More than two decades of Ottawa music .

Quite possibly the longest-running
music show in Canada.

Launched 1973, it ran for more than 20 years thanks to the support of community cable television in Ottawa and the many volunteers who made it happen. In the early years this 30 minute weekly music show initially featured the studio recorded interviews and performances of local musicians but as technology and ideas evolved Soundtrack began to get out about town.

It's the Soundtrack Christmas show and we unwrap live footage of Big Sugar at Porter Hall and and interview with lead singer/guitarist Gordie Johnson thanks to Shawna Lucey. Catherine & Chris of Ottawa band Cat discuss their latest project and perform “Venus” in the Soundtrack play area. Steven and Doug from the Odds do an acoustic version of "Heard You Wrong" live in Studio C. Our producer Mike Fisher has a quick chat with The Commitments and get some live footage of the band on stage at Barrymores.

I Mother Earth kicks off this edition of Soundtrack. We see the video for Another Sunday and Ian Stolberg has a casual chat backstage with Edwin about the band's rise. Michael and Marianna of Unsung Heroes talk with Janet and perform their song Amputation in the Soundtrack play area. Producer Mike Fisher catches up with Elevator to Hell and they discuss the value of vinyl. We end the show with a Genesis experience - a live clip of Watcher of the Skies from The Musical Box show at the Congress Centre and a chat with keyboard player David Myers.

Nova Scotia's Sandbox came to Ottawa and took time out to speak with Soundtracks' Ian Stolberg. He talked to Paul Murray (nephew of Anne Murray!) and Mike Smith about what they fight about, their album and an upcoming US tour with I Mother Earth. Ottawa band The Mustards perform "The Big Noise" in the Soundtrack play area and Marco and Stu discuss the making of their new album that's produced by Myles Goodwyn. We have a chat with the Barstool Prophets, and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings play acoustic and chat with Janet in Studio C. We wrap the show with footage of Hootie and the Blowfish live at Corel Centre.
